Irek Lacki has extensive experience in intellectual property licensing and copyright administration within the music industry. Currently serving in Intellectual Property Licensing at Sony Music Entertainment since May 2021, Irek oversees music publishing rights, verifies metadata compliance, and prepares licensing agreements. Prior to this role, Irek worked as a Licensing Executive at DREAMSTAGE Inc., managing music licensing for a streaming platform and establishing industry relationships. With significant tenure at Sony Music Entertainment from 2008 to 2019, Irek held positions including Director of Copyright Administration, advising on copyright matters and training licensing staff. Previously, Irek gained experience at Sony BMG Music Entertainment and BMG Music, focusing on copyright licensing. Early career roles included managing mechanical licensing at Zomba Recording Corp and stagehand work at IATSE local 84. Irek earned a BA in Music Business/Performing Arts Management from the University of Hartford.
