Julie Allen has extensive experience in education, serving as an Assistant Principal and a teacher in various roles at Somerville Public Schools since August 2013, including teaching first grade in a bilingual program and tutoring students learning English as a second language. Prior to these positions, Julie worked as a student teacher in a first-grade bilingual classroom while simultaneously completing a Master's degree at Lesley University, where research assistance was provided to an early childhood education professor. Previous experience includes customer service roles at Viacord and Keurig, where bilingual communication in French and Spanish was utilized. Julie Allen holds a Master's in Education with a focus on Bilingual, Multilingual, and Multicultural Education from Lesley University and a degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Vermont.
