Kasun Talwatta has been working in the software engineering field since 2005. Kasun started their career at ECONZ Wireless as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for developing a flagship product for Downer Engineering. In 2012, they transitioned to Capital & Coast District Health Board as a Software Integration Consultant, where they worked to integrate different technologies using Java and .NET. In 2013, they moved to Orion Health as a Software Developer. In 2017, they became the DevOps Lead at SteadyPay. Currently, they are a Field Engineer (APAC) at solo.io.

Kasun Talwatta has a Master of Engineering (MEng) from Victoria University of Wellington in Software Engineering (2011-2012) and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) from The University of Auckland in Computer Engineering (2001-2004). Additionally, they have obtained two certifications: Fundamentals for Istio Ambient Mesh by Solo.io in September 2022 and Essentials for Istio by Solo.io in June 2021.
