Shawn Pearcy has over 25 years of work experience, starting in 1996 with the Signal Corps in the US Army as a Lead/Telecommunication System Operator and Maintainer. Shawn oversaw and acted as a subject matter expert for tactical communication equipment and performed network operations and monitoring.
After leaving the military, Shawn worked at Unisys Corporation from 2001 to 2004 as a Lead/Technical Support Analyst. In 2013, Shawn joined SpiderLabs, Trustwave Holdings, Inc as an Application Security Analyst. Shawn worked until 2015 and was responsible for analyzing application security and ensuring its integrity within the company.
Shawn then worked at NCC Group from 2016 to 2018 as a Security Consultant. Shawn conducted penetration testing and security assessments on various technologies, including web applications, network infrastructures, and physical security controls. Shawn also scoped projects and conducted social engineering engagements.
From 2018 to 2023, Shawn was hired by IBM as an X-Force Red Hacker. Shawn conducted security assessments and penetration testing on various technologies and assisted in the development of processes for conducting security testing in accordance with industry standards.
