Tamara Harrison has a diverse range of work experience in the arts, education, and consulting sectors. Tamara'smost recent position is as the Head of Children, Family, and Creative Learning at the Sydney Opera House, where they oversee the artistic program for children and families, as well as workshops and public programs for lifelong learners. Prior to this, they worked as a tutor for the Masters of Art & Design, Cultural Leadership program at UNSW and as a teacher at Primary Ethics. Tamara also has their own consulting business, where they work with clients such as The Ethics Centre and Circus Oz on various arts, education, and placemaking projects. In 2018, they served as the Managing Director of The School of Life Australia, a cultural enterprise focused on emotional intelligence and personal development. Before that, they held the role of Director of International Projects at the Australia Council for the Arts, where they facilitated international market development for Australian artists. Tamara also has experience as the Head of Development at ACMI and as the Executive Producer at Polyglot Theatre. Early in their career, they worked at Malthouse Theatre as both the Philanthropy Manager and the Media Manager. Additionally, they have experience in graphic design and photographic production from their time at Design By White in London.
Tamara Harrison's education history includes a range of experiences in various fields. Tamara attended Asialink in 2015, where they completed the Leaders Program in the field of Asia/International Relations/Cultural Diplomacy. In 1999, they enrolled in Rose Bruford College and earned a Masters in Theatre Practises with a focus on international arts and theatre practises, which they completed in 2001. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1996, Tamara studied at RMIT University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Media Arts, focusing on video, photography, and digital arts. Tamara'seducational journey started at the University of Melbourne from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree. During this period, they studied Fine Art, Film, and English.
