Sylvia Kelechi, PhD, is an accomplished civil engineer with extensive experience in leadership and engineering management. Currently serving as a Global Leadership Coach and President at the Society of Women Engineers since June 2022, Sylvia organizes events and promotes outreach initiatives. Previous roles include Vice President at the American Red Cross, Graduate Research Assistant and Laboratory Coordinator at Purdue University, and several positions within the Indiana Department of Transportation and APWENx. Sylvia holds a Doctor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Bayero University, Kano, and multiple degrees in Civil and Structural Engineering from renowned institutions. With a strong focus on critical thinking and problem-solving, Sylvia has contributed significantly to community development and academic research initiatives throughout a diverse career.
