The Society of the Divine Word (SVD) is the world’s largest Roman Catholic order of missionary priests and brothers. 

Focused on social justice, interculturalism, community development, the environment and humanitarian aid, Divine Word Missionaries work in more than 80 countries on six continents. We follow God's call to go to missions far and wide and serve those most in need.

The SVD's Chicago Province extends from Montreal to Montserrat and from Nebraska to Massachusetts. Collectively, Chicago Province missionaries come from 27 countries and speak more than 20 languages, which allows us to have conversations with people where they are.
