Maralee Sautter has extensive experience in technical communication and instructional design, serving as a member of the Society for Technical Communication since June 1999 and holding various leadership positions, including Associate Fellow since 2017. Notable awards include the 2014 Distinguished SIG Service Award and the 2009 Distinguished Chapter Service Award. Sautter has contributed to organizations such as Onboard Dynamics, Portland State University, and Thermo Fisher Scientific, where responsibilities included consulting, teaching, and creating technical documentation.
