An accomplished songwriter and entertainment lawyer, Patrick Curley is the President and co-founder of Third Side Music, a boutique music licensing and copyright administration firm with offices in Montréal and Los Angeles. Third Side Music was started in 2005, and since then has gained a strong reputation, with a large catalog, and a copyright administration department that handles more than 25,000 titles from Canadian, American and international writers and composers, as well as having one of the best synchronization licensing departments in the business. As one of Canada’s music industry experts, Curley has been a featured speaker at international conferences including MIDEM, CMJ, ALAI, Canadian Music Week (CMW), North by North East (NXNE), and the Paris Sync Summit, as well as being a guest lecturer at McGill University, Trebas institute, L’Association des professionnels de l’édition musicale (APEM) and at various SOCAN educational events. Curley grew up in Jonquière, Québec, graduated from McGill Law School in 1995, and became a member of the Quebec Bar in 1997. He,s been a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Music Publishers Association (CMPA) since 2008, and a songwriter member of SOCAN since 1990. Patrick joined SOCAN’s Board of Directors in 2014.
