George Tonev is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in developing and leading projects in various technology companies. Currently at Snap Inc. since June 2022, George co-owns a platform-level component for compositing and interacting with content. Prior to this, George held multiple roles at Amazon from August 2016 to May 2022, including Senior Software Development Engineer, where George led the design of Amazon Photos across various platforms. George's earlier career includes significant contributions as Technical Lead at Zumobi, Founder and Software Developer at Serendipitous Bits, and various roles at Microsoft Corporation, where George was instrumental in designing parts of Windows 8 and Windows Vista. George holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Emory University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the American University in Bulgaria.
