Dudley McFadden has a diverse range of work experience in engineering and water resources. Dudley started their career as a Mechanical Engineer at Garrett AiResearch, where they focused on environmental control systems design. Dudley then worked as an Engineer in Water Resources for the State of California, where they conducted snow surveys and flood management. During this time, they also developed a web-based data presentation system for energy and water utility managers. McFadden then joined David Ford Consulting Engineers, Inc. as a Senior Engineer, where they specialized in hydraulic analyses, flood mapping, and software architecture. Dudley also served as a project manager and team lead, delivering solutions to public and private sector clients. Dudley then transitioned to SMUD as a Project Manager, supporting the relicensing of the company's hydroelectric plants. Later, they moved to RBF Consulting as a Senior Civil Engineer, where they worked on water resources analyses for land development projects. Dudley is currently employed at Sacramento Municipal Utility District as a Principal Civil Engineer, overseeing the Dam Safety Program, supporting hydroelectric assets, and conducting technical presentations and training.
Dudley McFadden received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara in the years 1985 to 1989. Dudley also obtained additional certifications as a Diplomate in Water Resources Engineer from the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers in 2011 and as a Professional Civil Engineer from the California Department of Consumer Affairs in 1996.
