Mr Yap Kim Wah sits on the Boards of SMRT Corporation Ltd and SMRT Trains Ltd. He is also an independent non-executive Director of SATS Ltd and Vice Chairman and Board Member of RTS Operations Pte. Ltd..

Mr Yap is a registered Professional Engineer and a Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore. On graduation, he joined Esso Singapore Pte Ltd working in the refinery as a Senior Project Engineer. And in 1975, he left to join Singapore Airlines till retirement, having achieved over 35 years’ experience in a range of Senior Management positions including Marketing, Cabin Crew, Human Resource, Regional Director West Asia & Africa and Chief Executive SATS Catering. He was the Chairman of the subsidiary company, Tradewinds Tours & Travel Pte Ltd and a Board Member of the Singapore Land Authority.

In his last position as Senior Vice President for Product & Services, he was responsible for product design and innovation, worldwide airport and reservation services and operations, in-flight services and catering, in-flight entertainment, customer servicing, staff training and development.

Mr Yap holds a First-Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the then University of Singapore and had attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
