Shanita Brackett, PMP, serves as the Associate Director for Operations at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) since September 2016, with previous roles including Assistant Director for Visitor and Guest Services and Chief Portfolio Officer. Prior to joining the Smithsonian, Shanita Brackett worked as an IT Program Manager at the USDA Food and Nutrition Service from November 2012 to September 2016 and held the position of Project Manager/Program Analyst at the US Environmental Protection Agency from April 2007 to November 2012. Earlier experience includes roles in product development at BluChipz, LLC, and as a Program Analyst/Technical Liaison at Northrop Grumman Information Technology. Shanita Brackett earned a Master of Science in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1997.
