Jame Anderson

VP & Cultural Practice Director at SmithGroup

Jame Anderson's talent for flawlessly intersecting architecture, art, and exhibition design, Jame draws her inspiration from solving challenging problems, creative people, and an inherent need for beauty. Her career is a balance of making, practice, design, and teaching continuously focused on cultural institutions. Originally an artist turned exhibits fabricator, she studied architecture leading to her first tenure with SmithGroup. Jame went on to serve as a Senior Architect and Exhibit Designer at the National Gallery of Art, where she designed hundreds of special exhibitions and other projects before returning to SmithGroup to lead the Cultural practice. Some notable projects include the National Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of Pop Culture in New York City, the Lumpkin’s Slave Jail Site/Devil’s Half Acre interpretive site, and the renovation and expansion of The Franklin Institute.
