Michael Trenholm-Boyle

Distinguished Developer at Smart Technologies

Michael Trenholm-Boyle is a distinguished developer at SMART Technologies, with experience since July 2005 in leading the development of key education software products, including Notebook and SMART Response. Michael rearchitected the Notebook Gallery to comply with SCORM 2004 specifications while enhancing user features such as internationalized search and tagging. Prior to this role, Michael interned at Microsoft in 2002, contributing to the Chief Software Architect's Technical Assistance team by creating a prototype for an enhanced telephony application. In a previous internship in 2000, Michael developed the first prototype of Microsoft Research Sideshow, which later evolved into the Microsoft Windows Vista Sidebar. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, earned between 1994 and 2005.
