Jin Akiyama is a seasoned financial executive currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at SmartNews, Inc. since October 2024. Prior to this role, Akiyama held the position of Executive Vice President and Group CFO at ADK from October 2018 to June 2024, and served as Senior Vice President of Corporate at GREE, Inc., where responsibilities included CFO duties, legal, and human resources, along with a board membership from November 2011 to September 2018. Akiyama’s extensive experience in investment banking includes a notable tenure as Director in the investment banking division at Merrill Lynch, advising major corporations in the Technology, Media, and Telecom sectors from March 2001 to October 2011. Additionally, Akiyama worked as an Associate at Mitsubishi Corporation, overseeing accounting and credit control from April 1995 to November 1999. Akiyama also contributes to academia as a faculty member teaching finance at GLOBIS University since October 2005. Educational qualifications include an MBA from INSEAD and a BA in Economics from The University of Tokyo.
