Mircea Halmagiu has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mircea has held various roles in different companies, demonstrating their expertise in engineering, DevOps, and software development. Mircea's most recent position was as an Engineering Manager/Team Lead at Smartly.io, where they managed the Developer Tooling Team responsible for software production. Before that, they worked as a DevOps Engineer at Smartly.io, automating social advertising across multiple platforms. Prior to their time at Smartly.io, they served as Lead Devops Engineer at IDT Messaging, where they utilized tools like Docker and Kubernetes to create scalable self-managing architecture. Mircea also has experience as a Senior Software Developer and B2B Lead at alaTest, specializing in backend systems development and managing a small team. Mircea has also worked as a Backend Software Engineer for various companies, contributed as a CTO/Backend Lead at Yoogaia, and served as a Senior Software Engineer at Scoopshot. Earlier in their career, Mircea worked as a Software Engineer at Digia and as an English Teacher at the University of Jyväskylä. In addition, they have been self-employed, taking on freelance projects in software development and web development, including the creation of an optical Theremin and commercial web development using Python and Django.

Mircea Halmagiu completed their IEB Matriculation Certificate and Cambridge IGCSE at St Benedict's College from 1999 to 2003. Mircea then pursued a BSc (Eng) (Elec) (Info) in Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand from 2004 to 2008.
