David Cortes is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in capital markets and risk management. Currently, David serves as the Head of Capital Markets and Corporate Treasurer at SmartBank, where responsibilities include overseeing Interest Rate and Liquidity Risk and managing the Bank's Investment Portfolio as a member of the Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO). Prior to this role, David spent a decade at BBVA in the USA, advancing from Market Risk Analyst to Associate Director, focusing on Interest Rate Derivative Products and client relationship management. David holds a Master of Science in Finance with a Risk Management Specialization from the University of Alabama's Manderson Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The University of Alabama.
