Eric Cox currently serves as a Visiting Professor at SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences since February 2023 and has a long-standing academic career at Ghent University, where roles have included Vice-chair and Chair of various departments related to Translational Physiology, Infectiology, and Public Health. Eric has been instrumental in leading research on prophylaxis and vaccination through the PROVAXS consortium and directs research at the Laboratory of Immunology focusing on the mucosal immune system and animal vaccination. Additionally, Eric holds a position as an expert in veterinary immunology with EFSA and has been actively involved with EAEVE as an expert from 1995 to 2014. Educationally, Eric obtained a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from Ghent University from 1977 to 1983, following an earlier education at Atheneum Hasselt from 1971 to 1977.
