Phil Monaghan, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, GPHR has extensive experience in human resources, spanning over two decades. Phil'smost recent position was as the Vice President of Human Resources (CHRO) at Skyland Trail, where they started in March 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Human Resources Consultant at LUCKIE from an unknown start date to March 2022. In 2021, they held the role of Interim Senior Vice President of Human Resources (CHRO) at WellStreet Urgent Care.

Monaghan's experience also includes several roles at the American Cancer Society, beginning in 2007. Throughout their tenure at the organization, they held various positions, including Senior Vice President of Talent Strategy (CHRO), Vice President of Human Resources, Managing Director of Corporate Center HR, and Director of Talent Strategy. In these roles, they led HR functions enterprise-wide, spearheaded change initiatives, and implemented strategic talent plans.

Prior to their time at the American Cancer Society, Monaghan worked at NTT DATA Services where they held several positions, including HR Manager & Business Partner for the Federal Government Division and Global Practices. Phil provided HR leadership and services to various divisions and regions.

Monaghan has also served as a part-time instructor at Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business since August 2023, and as a member of the Board of Advisors at the University of North Alabama since May 2023.

Phil Monaghan, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, GPHR, holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Personnel & Human Resources from Wayne State University. Phil also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BS) with a focus on Marketing from the same university. Prior to their college education, they completed their college preparatory studies at Brother Rice High School. In addition to their academic qualifications, Phil Monaghan has earned several professional certifications. Phil obtained the SHRM-SCP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in January 2015. Phil also holds the GPHR certification, which stands for Global Professional in Human Resources, obtained from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in December 2008. Furthermore, they attained the SPHR certification, which stands for Senior Professional in Human Resources, in December 2002, also from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
