Sofía Ferreira is an experienced professional in medical technology and engineering, currently serving as an Innovation Engineer at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona and an Innovation Project Manager at i4KIDS since January 2021. Sofía co-founded heecap, a MedTech startup focused on developing a device for diaphragmatic atrophy in mechanically ventilated patients, following participation in the d·Health Barcelona program. Additionally, Sofía has been a Biomedical Imaging 3D Printing consultant and 3D Printing Engineer at Sidra Medicine, specializing in anatomical model prototyping. With a background as a Mechanical Project Engineer at Sener Ingeniería y Sistemas, Sofía has contributed to various projects in regenerative medicine and railway systems. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and a postgraduate degree in healthcare innovation.
