Marcel Thijert is an experienced professional in chemical engineering and management, currently serving as Business Unit Manager Inspections at Sitech Services BV since February 2013. Previously, Marcel held various roles including Manager Integrity, Functional Excellence Leader Maintenance, and Manager DCP Inspections, focusing on continuous improvements and inspections of chemical plant equipment. Prior experience includes Operations Manager and Production Manager positions at DSM Fibre Intermediates, and leadership roles at Cefic ESA, where Marcel chaired the Technical Committee. Marcel began a career as a Process Engineer and Chemical Engineer in different capacities at DSM Chemicals and DSM Research, contributing notably to Caprolactam technology and obtaining several patents. Marcel holds an Ir degree in Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology from the University of Twente.
