Mike Krygier is currently an advisor at Siscale. Prior to that, they were with Google for three years, serving as Public Sector CTO - Canada. In that role, they built relationships with various levels of government executives in order to identify policy and digital transformation goals, and served as a bridge between those goals and the cloud solutions and services that Google Cloud can provide. Mike also envisioned new cloud solutions and worked with customers, sales, engineering, product management and technology partners to develop them.
Before their time at Google, Krygier spent two years as the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, Urban Technology for the City of New York. In that role, they were a founding executive member of New York City Cyber Command, working closely with the Office of the Mayor, the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and Department executives and technology leaders on cybersecurity for the city. Mike also led a team of 25 staff responsible for cybersecurity for the City’s Internet of Things and Smart Cities Technologies, Critical Infrastructure, including Operational Technologies and Industrial Control Systems. Additionally, they launched the NYC Secure initiative (secure.nyc) to deliver free mobile and Wi-Fi security solutions to all New Yorkers, and built an Urban Technology cyber testing lab.
Mike Krygier has a MSc in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London. Mike also has a Field in Information Systems Management from Ryerson University. Mike is certified from Google in Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect. Mike is also certified from Cloud Security Alliance in Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK). In addition, they are certified from ISACA in Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Finally, they are certified from (ISC)2 in Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
