Kathinka Friquin is a highly experienced researcher and educator in the field of fire safety, currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist and PhD at SINTEF Community since November 2021, specializing in architecture, materials, and structures. In addition, Kathinka holds the position of Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) since October 2021, focusing on fire safety in buildings and the fire properties of building materials. Previous roles include Research Scientist at SINTEF Building and Infrastructure from 2002 to November 2021, where research concentrated on fire safety and technical approvals, and a PhD candidate at NTNU from 2003 to 2010, investigating fire safety in large-scale solid wood structures. Kathinka's educational background includes a PhD in Fire Safety in Timber Structures and a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from NTNU, along with a Bachelor's degree in Architectural and Building Sciences from Ã…lesund University College.
