Lars van der Steen is an accomplished data scientist with extensive experience in Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), retention strategies, machine learning, and data mining. Currently, Lars serves as a CRO specialist focused on retention and generative AI projects at DPG Media since 2016, and also leads a chatbot and NLP project at Simyo since December 2019. Lars has contributed to multiple machine learning initiatives at eBay since 2011, particularly within the Marktplaats team, which was shortlisted for the 2018 European Search Awards for an innovative real-time bidding strategy. Additional roles include significant projects in fraud prevention and risk data mining at International Card Services, LeasePlan Corporation, and other organizations. Lars holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and degrees from Erasmus University Rotterdam and Delft University of Technology.
