Dave Cella is currently the Chief Product Officer at Simplify Compliance. Prior to this, they were the Publishing Director at Elsevier from April 2013 to August 2014. Dave was responsible for leading a global team of 30 employees and for the development, planning, and operational implementation of content acquisition, product development, product management, partnerships, and acquisitions for a $22M Life Science business. Dave was also a member of the Senior Management Team. Dave helped the company exceed its 2013 goals for revenue (108%), new products (109%), & front list publications (118%). Dave also led the annual strategic planning process for the division and collaborated with other departmental leaders to execute on strategic plan and adapt according to market/customer needs. In their first 90 days, they led the successful integration of an additional product line into the core business. Dave also created & implemented the company’s first textbook strategy & revenue model in their first year. Dave was nominated by the VP to be the liaison for the Finance, Contracts, & Science Direct teams.
Before their time at Elsevier, Dave was the Vice President, Product Operations at ATI Allied Health from October 2011 to January 2013. Dave was responsible for all aspects of product development and commercialization for the company’s Health Science portfolio of 40+ products. This included developing product strategies, managing project portfolios, leading cross-functional product development teams, and working with sales and marketing to bring products to market. Dave was also responsible for a $5M budget and a team of 12 direct reports.
Prior to their time at ATI Allied Health, Dave was the Executive Editor at HCPro, Inc. from July 2004 to October 2005. In this role, they oversaw all editorial aspects of HCPro’s portfolio of 15+ newsletters and managed a team of 5 direct reports. Dave also played a key role in developing new products and expanding existing ones.
Dave Cella has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and certification from Pragmatic Marketing in Pragmatic Marketing - PMC VI.
