Zhen Li has had a varied career in psychology. In 2007, they began working as a Research Assistant at Beijing Normal University. In 2008, they moved to Central University of Finance and Economics, where they worked as a Psychology Counsellor and Lecturer. In 2010, they were awarded the University Excellent Mentorship Award. In 2014, they became the Founder and CEO of MyTherapist, an Internet platform that connects mental health professionals with clients.

Zhen Li completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Cognitive Neuropsychology at UCL from 2006 to 2007. In 2014, they attended Draper University.
