Héctor Urbina has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Héctor started their career as an Administrative Systems Administrator at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile from March 2008 to March 2009. Then, they worked as a Researcher at Centro de Genómica Nutricional Agroacuícola from April 2009 to August 2010, where they focused on genomics and annotation pipelines for various crops.

In 2011, they joined Computational Biology Lab (Dlab) as a Laboratory Assistant, contributing until August 2012. Afterwards, they briefly worked as an Engineer at buscalibre.com for two months in 2012.

From January to March 2013, Héctor worked as a Development Engineer at Data Conversion Service SA, where they were responsible for web development for a cosmetic clinic, specifically optimizing resource usage, managing waitlists, and programming multiple medical treatments.

Héctor then transitioned to Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello as an IT Leader from May 2013 to August 2014.

In 2014, they joined Buena Vista Capital S.A. as a Software Engineer with an ongoing role.

Starting from December 2015 to June 2020, they served as a Software Engineer at Unholster.

Subsequently, Héctor worked at Reign from June 2020 to January 2022, where they initially held the position of Full Stack Developer, and later became a Technical Lead from November 2020 to December 2021.

Currently, they hold the position of Senior Engineer at Simon Data, starting from January 2022.

Throughout their career, Héctor has gained experience in various aspects of software engineering, genomics, systems administration, and leadership roles.

Héctor Urbina completed their education in a chronological manner. Héctor first attended the Universidad de Talca from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a degree in Bioinformatics and graduated as an Ingeniero en Bioinformática. Following this, they enrolled in the Instituto Superior de Comercio from 1997 to 2000, specializing in Contabilidad and obtaining a degree as a Contador.

In addition to their formal education, Héctor Urbina also obtained a certification as a CCA Spark and Hadoop Developer from Cloudera in August 2016.
