Allan Peter Engsig-Karup is a Professor associated with the Technical University of Denmark since August 2006, specializing in scientific computing, computational mathematics, and advanced scientific simulation techniques. With extensive experience in supervising research projects from BSc to PhD levels, Engsig-Karup developed the open-source OceanWave3D software, a leading tool for accurately modeling nonlinear wave dynamics. As an active member of various scientific councils and external reviewer for numerous grant proposals, Engsig-Karup contributes to multiple initiatives, including EuroHPC and PRACE, while also serving as Chairman of the Board for the BIT Foundation. Engsig-Karup's industry involvement includes roles as a Research Engineer and Director at SimCorp, and as an expert advisor in energy technology research for the EUDP program. With advanced degrees in applied mathematics and coastal engineering from DTU and additional research experience at prestigious institutions, Engsig-Karup continues to promote innovation in high-performance computing and applied mathematics in academic and industrial contexts.
