Dan was Director of SIL Mexico from 2013 to 2021. He earned a BA in Bible and Theology from Wheaton College. Having held many other leadership positions, including Director of Field Programs in Mexico and Executive Committee Member of SIL Mexico, he and his wife have also worked alongside the San Jerónimo and Eloxochitlán Mazatec language project teams.
