Esther Kouwenhoven has extensive work experience in brand management and strategy. Esther started their career at Philips in 2001, where they held various roles such as Director of Brand Strategy and Identity and Senior Brand Manager. During this time, they were responsible for developing brand positioning, visual and verbal identity, and sonic identity for the company. Esther also led brand campaigns, naming strategies, and endorsement partnerships. In 2016, Esther became the Head of Global Brand at Philips Lighting, which later became Signify in 2018. In this role, they managed the global brand team and was responsible for brand strategy, architecture, research, brand identity, and campaigns. Esther also oversaw brand governance and media strategy. Throughout their career, Esther has demonstrated a strong ability to drive successful brand initiatives and effectively manage global brand teams.
Esther Kouwenhoven obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in 2010, as part of the Executive MBA program. In the previous year from 2009 to 2010, they also completed a separate Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Nyenrode Business University. Earlier in their education, Esther earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Business informatics from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences between 1998 and 2003.
