Nicolas Brunie is a Principal Engineer at SiFive, specializing in micro-architecture and design, including high-performance floating-point unit architecture for RISC-V Vector extensions, with a focus on automation and evaluation processes. Previously, while at Kalray, Nicolas held various roles such as Lead System Architect, where responsibilities included managing a research and development team for embedded software and architecting CNN hardware accelerators. Additional roles encompassed development management and front-end design for IEEE-754 compliance. Nicolas also interned at Intel Corporation, contributing to floating-point software arithmetic. Nicolas earned a PhD in Computer Science from ENS de Lyon and holds a Master’s degree in fundamental computer science from École normale supérieure de Lyon.
