Westen Steeghs is an accomplished Aerospace Engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace industry. Currently serving as Aerospace Engineer III at Sierra Space since May 2022, Westen previously held multiple roles at Raytheon from June 2017 to May 2022, including Senior GNC Systems Engineer and Mechanical Engineer. Westen's early career involved an internship as an Advanced Design Engineer at Textron Aviation, where coding programs in VBScript/JavaScript streamlined aircraft analysis processes. As Stability and Controls Team Lead for the Texas A&M SAE Aero Design Team, Westen successfully designed a high lift inherently stable UAV for competition. Additional experience includes technical support at The Reynolds and Reynolds Company and a sales consultant role at Best Buy. Westen holds a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
