Negar Shams, Ph.D., is a Principal Power Systems Consultant and Sub-Team Lead at WSP in the UK since April 2023. With extensive expertise in power systems, Negar serves as a Corresponding Member of CIGRE since May 2021 and previously held roles as Technical Lead and Senior Power Systems Consultant at Arup from January 2022 to June 2023, and as Innovation Lead and Senior Power Systems Consultant at PSC - Power Systems Consultants from January 2021 to January 2022. Prior experience includes working as a Power Systems Consultant at RINA from January 2018 to January 2021 and conducting research as a Postgraduate Researcher at The University of Manchester from January 2014 to December 2017. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Power Systems and an MSc with Distinction in Electrical Power Systems Engineering from The University of Manchester, along with a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic.
