Martin Lechner serves as a Senior Staff Engineer and Senior Tech Lead at Shopify, where responsibilities include leading the transformation of Shopify's Checkout system and overseeing project planning and execution while engaging in hands-on coding across both backend and frontend technologies. Prior to Shopify, Martin held multiple leadership roles at Swisscom, including Principal Product Owner for Natural Language Understanding in Conversational AI and Vice President of Engineering for the Data, Analytics & AI Group, focusing on innovative data-driven products. Martin's earlier experience includes serving as CTO at Wikitude, where strategic decisions and technological leadership were key, as well as a chairman role in the ARML 2.0 Standards Working Group. Martin holds a PhD in Computer Science and multiple degrees in Mathematics and Applied Computer Science from the University of Salzburg.
