Barb S. has an extensive work experience. Barb began their career in 1990 at Caterpillar Inc., where they held a variety of accounting and process improvement positions. In 2016, they joined AWESOMELeaders.org as an Advisory Board Member. In 2019, Barb joined CONMED Corporation as the Director Board of Directors, Audit Committee Chair. Her experiences in supply chain, technology and operations provided insights as ConMed navigated the global pandemic. In 2020, Barb co-founded Schwarzentraub Bonucci Partners, an advisory firm engaged in research, analysis and implementation planning on issues related to sustainable physical and mental wellness, healthcare delivery, medical logistics, access and equity. Barb also joined Shipwell as the Director Board of Directors, Audit Committee Chair. Shipwell is an innovative business investing in technology that delivers workflow automation, advanced data analytics and consistent savings to their customers. Barb has also served as the Director and CFO of Global Information Services Division, Director of Global Component Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Director of Caterpillar Parts Distribution and VP of Caterpillar Logistics Inc., President of Caterpillar Logistics Technology Services, and Six Sigma Deployment Champion of Caterpillar Logistics.

Barb S. has a diverse educational background. Barb obtained their B.S. in Accounting from Bradley University and their MBA from the same institution. In 2008-2009, Barb attended Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and obtained an Executive Scholar degree in Strategic Management. In 2012-2013, they completed the Caterpillar Executive Management Program at Stanford University. Additionally, Barb has obtained several certifications, including Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age from Harvard's Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning, in association with HarvardX (obtained in May 2019), the Fellows Program from the Halftime Institute (obtained in October 2017), and Executive Innovation from Singularity University (obtained in February 2017).
