Shilpa T. has a long and varied work experience in the technology industry. Shilpa began their career in 2003 as a Technical Lead at JP Morgan Chase, where they designed and implemented a high-quality failover solution for MQ Series using J2EE and Java. In 2005, they took on the role of Technical Lead at Quest Diagnostics, where they delivered complex system implementations, development frameworks and methodologies. In 2007, Shilpa moved to Siemens Medical Solutions as a Senior Manager of Software Development, directing multiple global engineering teams to deliver features and functional requirements for a J2EE based HIPAA compliant Electronic Health Record system. Shilpa then moved to Nimble Technology in 2012 as CTO, leading the development of an integrated web/mobile platform for health campaigns and interventions. In 2013, Shilpa became a Senior Manager of Software Development at Precor, where they were involved in M&A Technology discussions and drove many cutting edge projects in the Connected health and fitness space. In 2015, they took on the role of Engineering Leader at Nordstrom.com, launching the modernization/architectural shift from on-prem to AWS cloud for Product related Services. In 2017, Shilpa moved to Amazon as a Senior Manager of Software Development, where they drove many cutting edge teams and products from scratch and established teams from scratch. In 2019, they became a Senior Director of Engineering at Microsoft, leading multiple engineering teams and having a diverse platform portfolio under the DataGrid and Intelligence umbrella. Currently, Shilpa is Vice President of Engineering & Data Science at Shipium, where they are helping ecommerce companies offer free and fast shipping and optimize their fulfillment operations.
Shilpa T. attended the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology from 1992 to 1996, where they received a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Shilpa then attended the University of Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2010, where they earned a Master's in Science and Engineering, Technology Management (Wharton).
