Matthew Chattell is an experienced operator and engineer in the energy sector, currently working at Shetland Islands Council since June 2019, where responsibilities include the safe and efficient operation of the Waste to Energy Plant supporting the District Heating scheme in Lerwick. Prior to this role, Matthew served as Operations Manager at Shetland Heat Energy and Power Limited from May 2017 to May 2019. Between 1995 and 2016, Matthew was with Shell, contributing as Electrical Supervisor/RPE on the Brent Delta offshore oil and gas platform, overseeing safety and the control of electrical equipment while supervising a team of technicians. Additional roles at Shell included Responsible Person Electrical positions on various platforms and Senior Operations Technician, encompassing various technical functions within power generation and distribution systems.
