Chuck Knapp is a seasoned conservation professional with extensive experience in wildlife ecology and research. Currently serving as Vice President of Conservation Research at Shedd Aquarium since September 1997, Chuck has held various roles including Director of Conservation and Research and Conservation Biologist. Prior experience includes a position as Conservation Research Postdoctoral Fellow at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance from February 2006 to September 2010, and earlier roles at Shedd Aquarium as Senior Aquarist and Aquarist from May 1991 to June 1997. Academically, Chuck holds a PhD in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida, where studies were completed from 2000 to 2005, as well as a Master's degree in the same field from the same university from 1997 to 1999, and a Bachelor's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, obtained in 1991.
