Karen Shakman is an experienced educator and consultant currently serving as a Middle School English Teacher at Shady Hill School and a Teacher Leader at Allium Montessori School. With a robust background in educational research and policy, Karen has held roles such as Educational Consultant, Research Scientist/Project Director at the Education Development Center, and Research and Policy Analyst at Teachers21. Karen's expertise includes training and technical support for educational institutions, with a focus on logic modeling and continuous improvement initiatives. An accomplished academic, Karen earned a Ph.D. in Education from Boston College, along with a Master’s in Secondary Social Studies Education and a Bachelor's in History/American Studies.
