Mr. Frank Phuan has over 20 years of experience in the solar industry leading numerous projects and public speeches involving solar systems technologies, sustainability strategy, green buildings and infrastructure, greenhouse gas emission reduction, solar farm and rooftop solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) projects across Asia Pacific.
In 2011, he co-founded Sunseap to provide solar energy as a service. The firm grew from a 5-men operation team to a few hundred staff regional business across 9 markets. In February 2022, Sunseap was acquired by EDP Renewables, the world’s fourth largest wind energy producer and became EDPR APAC.
Mr. Phuan plays a key role in business development, engineering and reducing the levelised cost of solar energy in Singapore to implement EDPR APAC’s first 10 MWp of solar PPA projects which subsequently set the foundation for its next 700 MWp of solar PPA projects.
Mr. Phuan was awarded the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award (EYA) 2015, the PVSEC Special Award in 2016 in recognition of his contribution to the growth of the photovoltaic industrial technology in Singapore, and was named an honouree of the Spirit of Enterprise Award in 2017.
Mr. Phuan holds an Honours degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Applied Science in Material Engineering.
