Marc Mitjans, PhD, is a Senior Robotics Engineer at Symbotic, focusing on perception, localization, and mapping since October 2024. Previously, Marc served as a Doctoral Researcher at Boston University from September 2019 to August 2024, where significant advancements included developing factor graph-based visual-inertial odometry and a technology for automated human mobility assessments with high accuracy. Other experiences include positions as a Deep Learning and Controls Intern at Motional, Robotics Engineer at GreenSight, Engineering Project Coordinator at Cintra, and Researcher at institutions such as MIT and IRI - Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial, among others. Marc holds a PhD in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Boston University and multiple degrees in Automatic Control & Robotics and Industrial Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, with additional studies at EPFL.
