Elizabeth De Smet

Assistant Project Manager II - Wetland Scientist at SESI Consulting Engineers

Elizabeth De Smet has a strong background in environmental work. Elizabeth currently holds the position of Assistant Project Manager II - Wetland Scientist at SESI Consulting Engineers and also works as a Wetland Scientist at EcoStable Technologies. Prior to these roles, they worked as an Environmental Specialist at Boswell Engineering, Inc. where they were responsible for acquiring regulatory permits, conducting wetland delineations, preparing environmental reports, performing feasibility studies, and collecting water samples. Before that, they worked as an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Permitting Lead at Griffin Dewatering. Elizabeth gained early laboratory experience as a Laboratory Intern at Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners, where they performed tests such as B.O.D. Overall, Elizabeth has a diverse range of experience in environmental roles and has developed skills in wetland management, environmental permitting, and laboratory testing.

Elizabeth De Smet completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science at Ramapo College of New Jersey from 2008 to 2012. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Science degree in Plant Biology at Rutgers | School of Graduate Studies since 2022. In addition to their formal education, Elizabeth has obtained several certifications, including Wetland Professional in Training (PWS) from the Society of Wetland Scientists - Professional Certification Program in April 2022, 40-hour OSHA (HAZWOPER) Certification from Safety Unlimited, Inc. in May 2018, 30-hour OSHA Certification in Construction Safety and Health from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in January 2018, Adult CPR/AED from American Trauma Event Management in March 2021, Notary Public from the State of New Jersey Notary Public Commission in October 2017, and New Jersey Wetland Delineation Certification from Rutgers University (specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided).
