Sumaiya Balbale serves as the COO and Operating Partner at Sequoia Capital since June 2020 and holds the position of CMO. Additionally, Sumaiya is a member of the Board of Directors at Shake Shack, participating in the Audit and Compensation Committee. Previous board experience includes serving as an Independent Director at Tally Inc. and on the Advisory Board of Impira. Prior roles include VP of E-Commerce, Mobile and Digital Marketing at Walmart, CMO at Jet, and various marketing leadership positions at Quidsi Inc., a subsidiary of Amazon. Early career experience includes roles at Morgan Stanley, Deutsch, and FCB Global. Sumaiya holds a BA in History from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
