Michael Horrell has held various positions in the data science field since 2007. In 2007, they were a Mathematics Researcher at Grinnell College. In 2008, they were a Teaching Assistant at Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth in Santa Cruz, CA. In 2009, they were an Analyst and Intern at the Kauffman Foundation. In 2011, they were a Statistics Intern at the American College of Surgeons. In 2014, they were a Graduate Fellow at Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation and a Head of Data Science, Director of Data Science, and Data Science Architect at Uptake. In 2020, they were a VP Data Science at Quantium, and in 2021 they are a Staff Data Scientist at SentiLink. In addition to these positions, they also completed a PhD in Statistics at the University of Chicago from 2010-2014.

Michael Horrell completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics at Grinnell College from 2005 to 2009. Michael then went on to pursue a PhD in Statistics at the University of Chicago from 2010 to 2015.
