Niel Ransom is a Partner of WRVI Capital — a technology venture fund established in 2019 focused on accelerating the monetization and scaling of disruptive companies globally. Niel founded Ransomshire Associates, Inc in 2005 – an advisory firm focused on enabling early-stage companies to achieve business growth and successful exits.

Before Ransomshire, Niel served as the Chief Technology Officer of Alcatel, where he directed a staff of 1200 scientists and engineers comprising Alcatel’s research, corporate strategy, intellectual property, and R&D investment organizations. Before joining Alcatel, he led the Advanced Technology Systems Center at BellSouth. He started his career at Bell Laboratories, where he headed various development and applied research organizations. He is Chairman of Saguna Networks and a Board Member at OPNT B.V. He serves as a Member of the Advisory Board at Bayland Scientific, GenXComm, Sedona Systems, and Servato.

Niel holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a BSEE and MSEE from Old Dominion University as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago.
