​As the company scales through multiple partnerships with health care providers, Dr. Claus Hamann's leadership experience with integrating quality, safety and efficiency of health care for at-risk patients and populations is critical. Dr. Hamann has executive-level experience for accountable care and managed services, both leveraging information technology-based decision support and analytics. Dr. Hamann is passionate about information technology-enabled transformation to value-driven care. He brings to Senscio extensive experience in primary and consultative geriatrics and teaching in regional and academic health centers, in integrated delivery organizations, and in national home-care practice for patients with high burden of chronic illness. He has strong skills in executive, clinician and patient communication; collaborative management in the cross-continuum, team care of older adults; member/patient experience and partner relationships; quality measures, safety standards and utilization review; and, electronic health records and clinical decision support. All of these skills are very valuable to Senscio as they continue to innovate on the integrated care delivery model for people with complex health needs.
Dr. Hamann obtained his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal and his master's in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. He trained in Internal Medicine at Baltimore City Hospitals, now Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and in Geriatric Medicine at the University of California and Sepulveda Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center, Los Angeles. He has authored publications and presented nationally in geriatrics, clinical informatics and population health. He has served on a town school committee, and enjoys gardening, sailing, cross-country skiing and hiking.
