Alex Unger has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. In their current position at Selfapy, Alex serves as the Head of Engineering. Prior to this, they worked as the Lead Backend and Architecture Engineer at Selfapy. Before joining Selfapy, Alex was a Community Member at 2hearts.

In 2019, Alex joined ownCloud as a Senior Software Engineer, where they contributed to the development of software solutions. Prior to this, Alex worked at Talon.One as a Software Engineer from 2017 to 2019.

Alex's experience also includes a role as Lead Backend Engineer at Asana Rebel - Yoga Inspired Fitness, where they focused on decoupling a monolithic system and scaling it to support millions of users.

Before Asana Rebel, Alex worked at 8fit as a Software Engineer & Fitness Trainer, where they developed features for both frontend and backend, as well as fitness routines and data analysis.

Alex's career began at The Singular Factory, where they worked as a Software Engineer, specializing in frontend development and requirement specification.

Alex Unger completed their education at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 2010 to 2015. Alex obtained an Engineer's Degree in Computer Engineering during this time. In addition to their formal education, Alex also obtained a certification in Kubernetes for Developers from The Linux Foundation in October 2022.
