Douglas Tan has a diverse range of work experience. Douglas began their career as a Management Trainee at Select Group Limited in 2011 and later served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Singapore Armed Forces from 2011 to 2013. Douglas then worked as a Finance Intern at ConneXionsAsia in 2014 and as an Operations Intern at Sheng Kee Restaurant Pte Ltd in 2016. In 2017, they joined foodpanda as an Operations Executive and later became an Operations Manager in 2018. Douglas transitioned to Select Group Pte Ltd in 2019, starting as a Management Associate and progressing to the role of Strategy Business Development Manager in 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Head Strategy Business Development at Select Group Pte Ltd.

Douglas Tan attended Saint Andrew's Junior College from 2009 to 2010, where they pursued GCE A Levels in Economics, Math, Geography, and Chemistry. Douglas later attended Boston University and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from 2013 to 2017.
