The Organizing Team at SEIU Local 509 is responsible for mobilizing and empowering nearly 20,000 human service workers and educators throughout Massachusetts. This team facilitates union membership growth, strengthens worker solidarity, and orchestrates strategic campaigns to improve wages, working conditions, and the overall quality of services provided by its members. They also train and support member leaders, coordinate public and private sector organizing efforts, and engage in community outreach to advocate for the rights of workers and the improvement of social and educational services.
